Overview
Having recognized the need to bring high-quality cardiovascular knowledge, training, and education to the state of Oklahoma, OHHRF sponsors an ongoing Continuing Medical Education (CME) program for advanced practitioners, including:
- Physician Assistants
- Certified Nurse Practitioners
- Certified Nurse Specialists
OHHRF CME courses are accredited and typically offer 2-4 CME credit hours per session, with points based on the number of presentations attendees stayed to see.
Format of courses
As sessions take place in the evening hours, healthy dinner options are provided free of charge to CME attendees. Sessions take place in our large conference room on the 4th floor of the OHH North Campus. Physicians of Oklahoma Heart Hospital’s Heart Rhythm Institute, Heart Failure Institute, Heart Valve Institute and Peripheral Vascular Institute present CME sessions. Sessions typically close with a panel discussion from members of the presentation staff as well as other specialists.
Topics
Topics range across the spectrum of cardiovascular disease. Each session typically focuses content around a specific category of cardiovascular disease.
Sessions in 2014 have included focuses on:

- Heart Failure
- Peripheral Vascular Disease
Future topics include:
- Lipid Metabolism
- Women’s Health
- Heart Disease

CME events are held once a quarter at the Heart Hospital and are free of charge thanks to grants provided by industry partners and donors.
