Coronavirus 2019: What you should know
Please refer to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or Oklahoma State Department of Health websites for the most up-to-date information.
Oklahoma Heart Hospital is closely monitoring the coronavirus outbreak, known as COVID-19. Oklahoma Heart Hospital regularly treats patients with infectious diseases, and our physicians, nurses, and clinical staff are highly trained in infection prevention protocols. Specific to COVID-19, we are following the procedures outlined by the CDC and state and federal healthcare authorities.
Updated Visitor Policy, effective Wednesday, March 24th
Hospital procedures and stays:
Hospital patients will be asked to declare two visitors as their only approved guests during the entirety of their hospital stay. The two may visit any time of day.
Upon arrival at Oklahoma Heart Hospital, patients and their visitor will be greeted at the front lobby, where their temperatures will be quickly checked.
Visitors must meet the following criteria:
- Must be over the age of 16
- Must not have been exposed to COVID-19 in the last 14 days
- Must not have a pending COVID-19 test
- If they have been tested in the last 10 days for COVID-19, they must have tested negative
- Visitors will be required to wear a mask at all times.
A visitor may stay with the patient during preparation for surgery or a procedure and following the procedure if the patient is admitted. The visitor may sit in our waiting areas, which are configured to allow for social distancing if space is available. If the waiting areas are full or if the visitor prefers, they may wait outside in a vehicle where they will be updated on the patient’s conditions by phone. We offer a snack and water while visitors wait in their vehicles.
Clinic appointments:
OHH clinics are allowing two visitors at this time. No children under the age of 16 are allowed. You and your visitors will need to bring a mask and expect to wear the mask at all times. Thank you.
Mask Donations
Our community is amazing! We are heartened by those people getting their sewing machines humming to make masks for our team. If you have masks to deliver to us – please drop them off at Oklahoma Heart Hospital located at 4050 W. Memorial Drive or 5200 East I-240 Service Road between 9am – 4pm (please don’t call as our phone lines are very busy). Our valet attendants are outside the hospital happy to take your gift. Thank you – we really need them and appreciate your support!
