Professional Information
Cheryl began her career at OHH as a Physician Assistant in 1999. Now more than two decades later, she is still with the practice.
Cheryl is currently head of the Lipid and Heart Disease Prevention Clinic. She considers it an honor to continue the programs founded by her mentor, Dr. Carl Rubenstein, with whom she worked collaboratively for 17 years. Cheryl is the only Physician Assistant in Oklahoma to be certified as a Clinical Lipid Specialist. This designates her extensive knowledge in the identification and management of dyslipidemia and related metabolic disorders which lead to cardiovascular disease.
Cheryl uses traditional tools, advanced lipid testing and cardiac imaging to offer risk assessment and strategies to reduce a person’s chance of having a first heart attack or stroke. She also works closely with cardiologists to rapidly achieve lipid treatment goals after suffering a cardiac event.
