Oklahoma Heart Hospital Receives Press Ganey Awards for Excellence in Patient Satisfaction for Fourth Consecutive Year

OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 3, 2016) – The Oklahoma Heart Hospital (OHH) received awards this week for the fourth consecutive year from Press Ganey Associates, Inc., for achieving high levels of excellence in patient satisfaction.

The OHH North Campus earned the 2016 Pinnacle of Excellence Award® and the OHH North Campus and OHH South Campus earned the 2016 Guardian of Excellence Award®, both from Press Ganey, which honor top-performing health care organizations who have reached the 95th percentile for patient experience nationwide.

The Pinnacle of Excellence Award® recognizes OHH’s consistently high levels of excellence in the patient experience measured over three consecutive years. OHH has received this award for the last four years, which is only awarded to the top three hospitals in the nation based on patient satisfaction scores.

“Receiving the Pinnacle of Excellence Award for the last four years is a big deal and we are so honored to be among the top three hospitals in the nation for patient excellence,” said Peggy Tipton, chief operating officer of OHH. “All of these awards from Press Ganey really demonstrate how we are delivering on our mission to provide excellence in quality and service.”

This is the third consecutive year the OHH South Campus has earned the Guardian of Excellence Award® and the fourth consecutive year the OHH North Campus has received the honor. The Guardian of Excellence Award® recognizes hospitals that have ranked in the 95th percentile based on the patient experience.

“Every day when I come to work, I am amazed by the outstanding care provided to patients and families by our amazing staff,” said Denise Bragg, chief nursing officer at OHH. “These awards recognize the strong commitment of every member of our team in providing the very best patient experience possible.”

According to Dr. John R. Harvey, president and chief executive officer of OHH, the awards represent an important recognition from the industry’s leader in measuring, understanding and improving the patient experience.

“We are so proud to receive this recognition from Press Ganey again this year,” said Harvey. “It really showcases OHH’s commitment to providing safe, high-quality services to patients, and highlights our longstanding role as industry leaders.”

In addition to these awards, OHH has ranked one of the top 50 cardiovascular hospitals nationwide from Truven Health Analytics and the top hospital for surgical safety in Oklahoma from Consumer Reports. OHH was also among 102 U.S. hospitals (2.2 percent of hospitals) that received a five-star overall rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in August for quality patient care.
